Loungewear

Now I've never really given loungewear much thought before, but since I sprained my ankle a couple of days ago...

(aaaaw, sad I know)

:(

I've been struggling for what to wear. My leggings and jeans (I only own skinny and straight leg) are too tight to get round my ankle, and so I've been stuck wearing joggers and feeling less than glamorous.

So naturally, I've been on La Senza's website and looking at what they have to offer. I'm after something very casual (because I'm going nowhere at the moment!) On the other hand, I don't want to feel like I've just got out of bed all day, so I don't want anything too pyjamas-y.

And here are some of my finds:

I got my make-up done at Benefit

I went into Debenhams today and got an appointment with Benefit to have my make-up done.

I was aiming for a natural, flawless and healthy skin look.

I felt such a poser having these taken, but you had to see!

In these photos I'm wearing: you rebel lite (SPF15 tinted moisturiser), everything from the Confessions of a Concealaholic kit and Benetint rose-tint cheek & lip tint.

Do you like the look?

Psst...

I bought the Confessions of a Concealaholic kit and Benetint as presents to myself.

"Oh, are these for me? How nice! You shouldn't have..."

I'm such a lucky girl.

:)

Oh, and here's the link.

I bought the dress

But I must say before I start, don't get too excited...

Remember me talking about this beautiful dress a few posts back?

Well, I went and bought it, and I was SO excited to try it on when it arrived!

But,

SADLY,

it really didn't look very good on me. I can't upload a photo of me wearing it because
1. The fitting was all wrong and not entirely flattering.
2. The red was more orangey than I expected and tbh I didn't like it that much.
3. And worst of all, I could not find a way to wear it with a bra since the dress has such a low-back.

I tried. I got my mum's bra fixing kit out to lower my straps...And couldnt lower them far enough. The alternative was to not wear a bra at all...which for me, really isn't an option, if you would like to know.

So that was my ordeal! Which didn't go entirely to plan.

But hey.

I know there are loads more beautiful dresses out there for me, which look much better on me, and are much easier to wear.

Much love,
Emma

Another week of new fashion ideas

Since the May edition of GLAMOUR came out at the beginning of the month, I've been using it to help me with new ideas.

I haven't done a post all week, so today I've uploaded some photos to update you on the sort of style I'm into at the moment.

Here are a few of my favourite outfits that I have been wearing this week:

Thursday
#
I love these clashing prints and patterns!!

Wearing: Spotty Top: Primark, Skirt: Topshop, Shoes: Office

I'm also loving the socks and sandals look right now, but only if it's done properly!

I'm really not sure this look is good on everyone with everything, so beware. Personally, I think this look is done best with short, black ankle socks and strappy shoes in a contrasting colour e.g. pale nude or white, as shown here. This time, I put together black socks and strappy leather flats in a nude colour, and I think it turned out great!)

Sunday

My little gorgeous dress, worn with knee high socks and patent leather brogues for a casual daytime look.

Wearing: Long sleeved dress: Top shop, Shoes: Schuh

Monday

More clashing patterns! Pirate-y stripes with pretty floral detail in a single piece.

Dress: Miss Selfridge, Boots: Next

I hope I've inspired you to try something different this season!

Much love,

Emma

My excitement and anticipation

I am so excited about meeting Ollie at the train station early tomorrow, because we haven't seen each other in two weeks.

Which is a very long time for us!

So of course I've taken a while to plan my outfit so I look as beautiful as possible when he sees me.

Fun times.
I've also painted my nails in Hot Pink from the No7 Stay Perfect range!

My nails are so bright!

So here's my outfit:

I've chosen to wear a new top I bought last week in the Republic Sale! There were loads of them left and I can't think why because to me it's gorgeous.

With this outfit, I can't decide whether it's better to wear the top in or out. I'll have to decide tomorrow.

I've also chosen to wear blue skinny jeans from Topshop.
Add Image
And my lovely heels, also from Top Shop.

Also wearing: Belt: Next, Bag: Kipling, Denim Jacket: Republic (years ago)

I am so excited for tomorrow!

I've found a new site

Check these out:

Heart print jersey leggings £10

Daisy Sleeveless Dress £20

I'm after a pair of heels just like these:

Patent multi strap heels with zip front £20

Oh, I've just noticed! My first three items would actually make a pretty good outfit together, don't you think!

Floral print leggings £10

Now I don't know about you but I've seen plenty of floral leggings. To me these are just as nice as any I've found in cream and grey, and are much cheaper!

There are so many lovely things on this website, but I just posted my favourites.

Happy shopping!

Ustrendy.com

I want to tell you about a website I've found called Ustrendy. Ustrendy is:

A fashion community dedicated to discovering designers and empowering consumers.

On the Ustrendy website, designers, models and photographers post their portfolios and work.

Then viewers and fans can vote and comment the work, and give feedback.

The idea is that it helps designers get noticed, because it can be difficult for them to breakthrough. There is also the opportunity for consumers to shop for designers' products on the website and enter weekly contests.

If consumers continually comment and vote, they can earn 'Trendy Points'.
An increase in the number of Trendy Points can earn that person free giveaways, and they can win prizes and places at events.

Now I don't know about you, but I think this whole idea is pretty cool.
So yes, I've been on this website and so far I've earned a grand total of 15 trendy points.

Wooooooooooooo!

I found some really lovely handbags by a designer called Jenny Karlsson.

(The writing on the middle one says 'sanity calms, but madness is more interesting')
So I rated them all five star.

Be sure I'll let you know if I find anything else worth talking about!

Much love,

Emma

Pretty Pastels

I found these lovely photos in the April Edition of Marie Claire:

And I'm not going to lie, up until today I was soooo dreading the idea of weening myself off black for Spring.
But I managed to rip off the plaster!

I had an awesome shopping spree today around Topshop, and found lots of nude shades and pastel colours.

Shh....I may have popped into Primark too...

I wore this outfit to dinner tonight. At the place where I'm starting work tomorrow!
I know that's a little creepy. Parents' idea, not mine...

Wearing - Shoes: Topshop, Jeans: Topshop, Undershirt: Primark, Netted Tank Top: Primark, Jacket: Vintage (Boutique, Lytham High Street) Scarf: Miss Selfridge

Aren't you pleased for me? Not a spot of black in sight.

Much love,

Emma
